Liu Linhu is a student in Grade Seven in Haxi Town Longtan middle school. He is short, and is very happy to our interviews. After we explained our interviews purpose to him, he happily told us about his family and about him.

    We know there are five members in his family: father, mother, two elder sisters. At home, he is the youngest.

    In order to look after them, father and mother can't go out to do part-time jobs for most time. They opened a store to sell vegetables by the side of the school. They get up very early in the morning to operate the small store. Sometimes, father and mother go out to do part-time jobs. All incomes in a year can only sustain their living.

    Among the children, eldest sister has greatest success in study. After junior high school, she gets the opportunity to go into a city point senior high school for her excellent marks. However, the other sister does not do well in study as their eldest sister. Therefore, the second sister discontinues her studying when in junior high school, and his parents have decided to stop his study at his graduation of junior high school also. The parents decide to support the eldest sister to enter a famous university with strength of the whole family.
