 Mr.
Sayling Wen's revolutionary Town and Talent Project
has allowed western rural children to learn at the
same level and speed as urban children. By using
the latest technology and the Internet, Mr. Wen
bridged the digital divide in western China and
promoted local economic development. Since we became
a Town and Talent member school, our students have
opened their minds to the outside world. They have
obtained tremendous achievements with the One-Touch
educational software, and our farmers have used
the Internet to derive economic benefits, as well.
We take this opportunity to  express
our immense gratitude to Mr. Sayling Wen, founder
of Town and Talent Technologies, for his work in
developing our village.
We hosted a signing ceremony at 3pm on December
10, 2003 in order to properly commemorate the memory
of this great man. The principal, Mr. Liu Shi-Ping,
began by providing an introduction to Mr. Wen's
life
and to Town and Talent Technologies. Then several
teachers quietly stated their own sorrow and resolution
to continue to bring the Town and Talent Project
to fruition. Finally, all the teachers and students
signed their names in memory of Mr. Wen.
In facing new beginnings and challenges, we will
cherish and realize Mr. Wen's dream together.
We will forever hold dear and honor the memory of
Mr. Sayling Wen. |
