In the Cross-cultural communication, people from different cultures are often misunderstanding in exchanges and understanding. Due to the different living environment, customs, history and even religion, different ethnic and countries form distinctive food culture. If you do not understand some of the differences of the dietary customs of taboo in cross-cultural communication, it easily affects food diplomacy. Although humans generally love food, a lot of foods become taboo due to ethnic, region, country and religion. It is delicious food in one place and taboo in another place; it is the name of dishes in this country and unfit for another country.

Example: Religion is particularly significant for German food culture. The four-legged animal meat is not allowed to eat during Christian fasting, and especially during the fast in April, fish and eggs are the only edible meat dishes. But the fish without scales is still not allowed to eat, and the reason is that the fish without scales often eat rotten food, which is prohibited in the teachings.
Some food taboos of the Chinese people are caused because of the animal's preferences and worship. Such as beef is prohibited to eat in some areas, because the cattle is very important production tool for the farming areas, sometimes it is more important than the people’s life. China's Manchu, Zhuang and other ethnics worship dog, so to avoid eating dog meat.

Safety and Health
On July 17, 2008, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that raging salmonella in 42 states in the United States recently has led to at least 1220 people were sick, which is the most serious outbreak of salmonella in 10 years of the United States.
In February 1999, the Belgian poultry industry found that the laying rate of hens was falling, eggshell was hard, broilers were sick, and therefore feed was suspected. According to preliminary investigation, they found that the three feed ingredients suppliers in Netherland provided fat which was containing dioxin ingredients to Vail, Belgium Kerst feed mill, since January 15, 1999, the feed mill mistook Dioxin fat mixed into the feed to sell.
On February 18, 2005: Sudan was found in British food, more than 500 kinds of food ordered off shelves, on March 4, 2005: Beijing authorities detected "Sudan I" from Heinz chili sauce, and confirmed sudan from Guangzhou TIANYANG. Yum again requires all suppliers to continue to troubleshoot the "Sudan" and to shift the focus on domestic raw materials. On March 15, 2005: "Sudan" was found in KFC Orleans roast wings and the New Orleans roast chicken burger sauce.

There are a lot of international food safety incidents, all of the people are worried about foreign food, which cast a shadow over international cuisine diplomacy. In order to protect the lives and safety of their citizens, almost all countries strengthen the intensity of the border.
