When I ventured here once more, I felt great sorrow.
I first
saw you during the spring two years ago. In a crowd
of thousands, you stood out in fine spirits and spoke
of the interesting happenings of your childhood. Your
lesson of altruism left a deep impression on me.
However,
after two short years, you left us forever in your 55th
year. Perhaps you were exhausted. In developing western
China, you wore yourself to the bone!
The Town
and Talent Project had just entered its first stage.
You left us as it is still incomplete. I remember when
a CCTV reporter asked you, "If the development
of western China cannot be realized within ten years,
what will you do?" You answered, "If it does
not come to pass, I will choose to be buried in western
Chinese earth when I die."
Mr. Wen,
I wish you a speedy journey and peaceful rest in Heaven.
