The Wetlands of Qinghai Lake is on the northern side of Qinghai Lake, which is 16 km away from the county seat. Compared to the kidney of the earth, wetlands is important to the national environment. Qinghai Lake Wetlands is one of the seven wetland in the world. In 1992, it was labeled as international swamp. Since it is located on the plateau, the World Swamp Conservation pays much more attention on it. There are many species living in Qinghai Lake Wetlands, whose tourist value exceeds other wetlands. And in educational and research field, Qinghai Lake Wetlands has an important place. It’s the hometown of whooper swans, which are the noble among birds. In autumn and winter, about 1500 whooper swans live here. If you are lucky, you can see Egret, Tadorna ferruginea, Larus brunnicephalus and other special birds. There is a resort in the Wetlands. It’s a good place of tourist.
