          |  |   Datong Shadow is rooted  in the fertile soil of the folk culture, fed up with the rich folk art. It is a  collection of folk art, music and drama, and also an integrated art of  characters, singing and performing. Due to less impact of foreign cultures,  Datong Shadow maintains the original ancient style.   |  |  
          |  |   Datong Shadow has firstly used separating the singing of men and  women, and also enhanced the artistic appeal within a slide background of the video  screen.  |  |  
          |  | The main props are  shadow dolls (commonly known as paper dolls), liangzi (the video screen), and  lamps (light). |  |  |  
          |  |   The main performing  musical instruments are the Sihu, the three-stringed lute, the suona, the long trump,  the small drum, the big copper gong, the Jiangzi, the stick, and the cup. There  are at least five in one team, the warmer, the top hand, the bottom hand, the  preparer and the leader, and up to six or seven. |  |  |  
          |  |   The music of Datong shadow is the "plate  chamber" in the opera, whose main melody is negative chamber, positive  chamber, roller board, and tip board. Its singing style and rhythm have  absorbed from Qinghai  local folk, opera and folk shows. Its two categories are the flower show and the  copies. |  |  |
