Harnessing of the Yellow River |
| Today, the engineering technologies of the Dujiangyan Project are still widely used in the reconstruction of the courses north of the Yellow River and the building of Jinanyan Project. The building of the sluice borrows the experiences of the bottleneck in the Dujiangyan Project. The control of the sands also borrows that in the Dujiangyan Project. The arrangements of irrigation and discharge borrow the systems in the Dujiangyan Project. The Jinanyan Project is also divived into inner river and outer river, whose concept and technology ingeniouly solve the problems of discharging the water, providing water to the citizens and controlling the silts in the Yellow River. Besides bamboo cages, a lot of other experiences are also widely used in the control of the Yellow River, Huaihe River and Zhujiang River. The experiences and technologies in the Dujiangyan Project have been widely spread all over the country and have made great contributions to the lives of all the Chinese people. |
