The scenic area of CuiYun Corridor is a green long porch composed of nearly ten thousand archaic
cypresses planted on the two sides of road。With Jian'ge,the famous historical and cultural city as its center,
it is distributed on the old post-way,in the west and north and south of the city,which spreads over tow hundr-
ed Li。It is one of the cores of the key National scenic and historical areas of Sichuan Trail in Jianmen as well
as the important component of the National Forest Park of Jianmen Garrison。

CuiYun Corridor was called historically Road Cypresses of Jian Canton，Royal Cypresses by folkmen，
also Zhangfei Cypresses。With Jianmen Garrison as its center，it stretches southeast to Langzhong of Nanc-
hong City,southwest to Zitong of Mianyang City,northeast to Zhaohua of Guangyuan City。It winds up,like a
dark green dragon,along the rolling chains of mountains and across the deep valleys。Her grand vigor,green
spectacular posture and great bosom were described and eulogized by generations of literati。Qiaobo,Magis-
trate of Jian Canton in the reign of Kangxi of Qing Dynasty composed a poem “CuiYun Corridor”after his
visit to the Road Cypresses。the name，full of beauty and romance,later became the elegant nickname“Road
Cypresses of Jian Canton”。

CuiYun Corridor began in Qin and Han Dynasty， and perfected in Ming Dynasty。Despite its going
through several thousand years,it still grows boughs and dense leaves,shining its vitality。It is rarely
pristine tree-wayed colony planted by men and praised“Soul of Sichuan Trail”,“rare National Treasure”。
More than eight thousand archaic cypresses stand on the either side of the road.Under the big and cloud-
like trees,lies the old path of the Golden Oxen,two three meters wide.This path was the main traffic way to
Chang’an from Sichuan area。It has gone through several thousand years of rain,wind and wars,but its mien
still exists。

The archaic cypresses in CuiYun Corridor are in various shapes and differentre。sAccording to their
growing trends,appearances and historical legends,people giethem many beautiful nicknames。Some of them are
named “Mandarin-duck trees”、“Sister trees”,、“Arhat trees”、“Guanyin trees”、“trees of white elep-
hant swallowing stone,”because of their growing trends。Other are given names such as“the Best cypresses”,
“Big and handsome cypresses”、“Shouxing cypresses”for their bigness。In addition,some trees are called
“Ah Dou cypresses”、“Face-to-home cypresses”,“stone-oxen cypresses”and“Fairy cypresses”because they
can be combined with some historical allusion。They are really unique in their statues without any similarity。
For thousands of years,thefirm-standing cypresses,just like loyal guards，have been protecting the archaic
way of clearance between Shanxi and Sichuan.They provided and provide shadows for the passengers against su-
mers,shelters for them against winters。They also directed and direct those people the way to go。They bro-
ught and bring visitors enjoyments of beauty。By probing its pristine way,searching for its tranquility,vis-
iting its past days, people can appreciate her beautiful and significant views。

CuiYun Corridor was approved to build up as the National Forest Park,by the Ministry of Forest Industry
of the State in 1992。It is the Wonder of World ,which can compare to the Road of ancient Rome, and is praised as
the earthly miraculous view “Ten Thousand Trees on Three Hundred Li”。In 2006, it was listed as one of the Nati-
onal Grade AAAA Traveling Scenic Area。
