The modern dwelling refers to the dwellings built after the establishment of People's Republic of China in 1949. In the ancient time, only rich people could own decent houses and most of the poor people couldn't have their own houses, or even they did, they could only afford a thatched shed. After liberation, everyone is equal, every family builds their own house, however, because of the lagging economy, most of the houses were made by wood and mud.
When people choose the environment for the house, they emphasize the single household. They generally choose a piece of flat land, take up lots of farmland, and be close to their corps. So the distance between households is comparatively far. Also, as a result of the local climate, residence prefer to the wind-shielding and covert location.
In the process of our interview, we can still see a lot of modern dwelling surrounded by many fruit trees. And because lots of the farm implements are made by bamboo, there’re lots of bamboo trees in order to use them conveniently.
