Cangxi wudang mountain , also Wudang mountain , is a famous scenic spot near the Cangxi Town and a popular Taoist venue in history . There are different versions about the naming of Cangxi Wudang mountain . Based on the Cangxi town file , Wudang mountain is located at two miles from the town ……the key place of the town . Therefore , people in the past thought the fact that the worshipping god in Taiyin ,Xuanwu of Taoism standed at the exit of the Jialing river which ran toward the east made the name of this mountain Wudang mountain .There is still Taiyin Cave at the left foot of the mountain .

Here is another version . When the emporor Zhudi started Jingnan Battle , he was helped by Zhenwu god and he won the emporor power finally . Therefore , he ordered everyone in the country to worship zhen wu god after he became the emporer . As a result , each place named the mountain where temples stood as Wudang based on the different directions of Wudang in Hubei province , including south Wudang , north Wudang , west Wudang around the country . Xi Wudang was named as Cangxi Wudang mountain was located at the western part . However , in the mind of the proud local people , is is Wudang mountain .

There build Zhenwu Hall at the cliff on the top of the Wudang mountain to worship Zhenwu god . It is said that it had been destructed by fire at the end of Ming dynasty and was not built until Qianlong period . It is a square quadrangle dwelling with Drama house and Guixing Hall in the southeast , the main hall in the north with Zhenwu statue in it and a copper mirrow which is called Zhenwu mirrow ( monster revealling mirrow among folks) and was made during the Longqing period in the Ming dynasty hanging at the back of the statue . Since this magical mirrow was known among the people , it was stolen by thieves for several times and was undermined . At the 30th years of Daoguang period in Qing dunasty (1850) , it was rebuilt by the outstanding worker in the town to make it integral . In addition , many carved stone statues are in the Zhenwu Hall to accompany with Zhenwu god . Since rebuilding in Qianlong period , Zhenwu Hall has been becoming a venue of the local Taoist activity . Its prosper can be shown by the description in historical records , a thousand hands are approaching in the daytime , ten thousand lumious lights at nights .
