Qianzi Lake, located on the southern part of the Yellow River tideland, 96 km away in Xijiu highway north of Yellow River bank, is marshland formed by the Yellow River tidelands, embracing a picturesque natural scenery of wide waters, dense grasses mainly of reeds and thick shrubs. In 2001, it was developed as "Qianzi Lake Resort District" consisted of restaurants and entertainment spots such as specially operated freshwater fish pools and small-sized boating. In weekends, tourists inside and outside the province pack in and come here to relax themselves, entertain and enjoy the nature's beauty. In May 2006, the county together with the State Forestry Inventory and Planning Institute signed a design agreement named "General Plans of Yellow River Wetland Park in Guide County of Qinghai Province," in which the wetland on the north of Yellow River bank in our county was named as "Yellow River Pure Wetland Park", which was the first wetland park in Qinghai province. The wetland park was centered Qianzi Lake, with construction scale of 3868 hectares, of which 2775 hectares were wetlands, and waters 1093 hectares. The construction of the wetland park was primarily focused on the protection total about 16 kinds of wild animals and plants resources such as Stipa, wolfberry, tamarisk, clematis and red duck, wild ducks, egrets. Based on that, it would focus on active and great development of the rich species resources, climate regulation, water purification, scientific and rational development and utilization of the Yellow River wetlands, and tourism resources enrichment.
