Waterwheel square is located on
the north of Binhe Road west to the Riverside Park in Heyin
town, on the south bank of the Yellow River, 3 km away east
to the town, 1 km away west to
 the
Hexi town.
The north part of the square is very close to the Yellow
River, and the south part is close to the Guide Yellow River
Forest Park which is a national non-commercial forest
reserve, enjoying beautiful surroundings.
The waterwheel square was planned and built according to
Guide County overall planning and the tourism planning, in
which cultural and landscape architectures have been built
and put into service. The total area is 16681.7 square
meters, in which carves stone stage and the rockery area
1580 square meters, parking, roads and stairs 2320 square
meters, the afforestation area 700 square meters, and the
beach area 1000 square meters.
The architectures in the square totally cost 4,329,600 Yuan.
Firstly the stage part including the water-circling path,
the wooden bridge, the wooden trestle, the granite stair,
chairs under the trees and the other cost 1,363,600 Yuan.
Secondly the waterwheel part including the foundation, the
leading path, the wooden waterwheel with diameter of 20
meters, the platform, the stone balustrade and so on totally
cost 1,966,000 Yuan. And the last one was the Yellow River
girl shape statue, 7 meters height, cost 1 million Yuan.
The waterwheel square enjoys the advantages of being
surrounded by water and forest, is a best destination for
tourists because of its comprehensive functions comprising
of leisure, entertainment and sight-seeing. For these few
years, the Guide Yellow River Cultural Tourism Festival
organized by the county was mostly held here. In the whole
year round, the tourists and tourist vehicles are never
ending. The highlight scenery in the square is that the
giant waterwheel is spinning slowly, while the shadows of
girls who live by the Yellow River are shining into the
wide, clear and crystal Yellow River, in which yachts are
shuttling beautifully. What an amazing picture it is!
Undoubtedly, the tourists highly praise it and even are
reluctant to leave.
