Prayer meeting on June

  The Sixth Lunar Moth Prayer Meeting refers to “Dharma-wheel Festival” in Tibetan language. It is the dharma assembly to commemorate Sakyamuni’s first sermon at Sarnath in India as well as the birth of Maitreya, so it is also known as Two-festival Day. It will last for 6 days from June 3 to 8 in Tibetan calendar. From June 1, monks begin to practice religious dance and chant sutra. The prayer meeting officially begins on June 3 and monks will gather to chant sutra and pray at the hall. On June 7, there will be a display for appliqué embroidery Buddha of Sakyamuni or Maitreya.  
     
  The rite of “Golden Buddha Incarnation” (Maiytreya Golden Body Incarnation) will be held on June 8, which is the Buddhist activity to commemorate and pray for the birth of future Buddha. Maiytreya is the future Buddhism leader. Believers come for worshiping, hoping to get tied with Buddha. The “Golden Buddha Incarnation” is also known as “Maiytreya perambulating the temple”, i.e., the golden body of Maiytreya is lifted to make circuits of the temple. June 10 is the day for the golden Buddha incarnation of the temple. living Buddha, deacon monks and monks should pay Dingzu curtsey to the golden body to pray for the bless of future Buddha and good luck. Then, the sixth Lunar Month Prayer Meeting comes to its end.
