On that day, we experienced a calligraphy demonstration of entirely new sort with curiosity and astonishment.
Mr. Ma Xiaoping, Neijiang well-known calligraphy artist, demonstrated the students a unique finger calligraphy under the tree before Wenchang building in the school. Mr. Ma Xiaoping used his hand to dip the ink while introducing finger calligraphy for the students. Then, he used ink-stained fingers to write on “Poem of Today", "Song of Tomorrow," "Early Spring" and other classic poetry on the snow-white xuan paper. I saw his hand in fist and sometimes writing with knuckles or fingers or writing with fist. He sometimes looked solemn, cautious; sometimes muttering and looked animated. At this moment, he got into the mood of calligraphy art from the real world and integrated with calligraphy.
Then, a few students who loved calligraphy also actively tried the "finger calligraphy", although they were still very young, their calligraphy was great. Mr. Ma Xiaoping read their calligraphies and praised again and again: "well written.", “it’s quite good", “well-written." Then he shared with us experiences of practicing calligraphy and gave instruction to our Chinese calligraphy.
When Mr. Ma Xiaoping's calligraphy works were hung for exhibition, In the face of the unrestrained running script and cursive script, powerful seal character and modesty regular script, my heart could not help but stirred ripples, the "finger calligraphy" allowed people to perceive the beauty of a true art. But behind the beauty, how much difficulty and roughness existed? When in the dead of night, Ma Xiaoping practiced calligraphy hard and strived for his own dreams, so did us.
