First Five schools from Chinese Mainland
Take Part in International Schools Cyber Fair
International Schools Cyber Fair is a global contest of website building
of project held by Global School Net Foundation and aided by US Department
of Education Technology Innovation Foundation. Since 1995, the Fair has
been held annually. The participating students build the website by means
of researching, interviewing, taking pictures, recording, etc and introduce
their local communities to the whole world. The teams review others’ works
and the winners will be awarded by the organizers. During the past 10
years, the Fair has attracted 1,000,000 students from 100 countries and
is the largest website building contest in Guinness World Record.
Organized by Town and Talent, the schools become the first ones from
Chinese mainland take part in the global event which has provided the
schools from impoverished western regions challenges and opportunities
that might change their current situation. Town and Talent organized its
member schools to participate in the Fair from November 2005 and 16 member
schools enrolled. Three months later, 9 schools presented fairly complete
works and five of them finished Chinese and English versions and were
eligible for the Fair for the outstanding performance. The five schools
gained a lot of help when they translated their websites into English.
Currently, the process of schools’ reviewing others’ works has been finished.
The schools are expecting the appraisal results from the organizers.
The final results will be released at the end of this May.
In addition, the five schools are the winners of Town and Talent Third
Cyber Fair. Following is the award list:
