In my hometown, there is a small river called Maoniu River. In the past, the heavy rain always caused flooding, when livestock and crops were swept away. At that time, the width of river could reach 50m. Because the flood was turbulent, which seemed to be a yak, people called this river Maoniu(it means yak in English) River.

The river originates from two springs on Xishan Mountain, one is big and the other is small. Feeding by several small streams, it passes more than twenty villages, and finally flows into Wenyu River. In the past，it was the main water resource for those villages .
