————The Public Cemetery ————
   Bijie Public Cemetery is located in Phoenix Hill in
northwest of Bijie Town, whicha, covers an area of 8700
square meters, facing Daotian River, back to Wenbi
Mountain. It has beautiful mountains and waters, singing
birds and fragrant flowers, which the forest coverage
rate reaches 95%. It is not only a tourist attraction in
Bijie Town, but also is a patriotism education base. It
is one of 110 national martyr cemeteries. The Public
Cemetery began to build in 1956, completed in 1958.
Earmarked money to build new Xiaxi tomb in 1985, and held
a solemn burial ceremony. It is the one of the two key
protection units of martyrs commemoration building approved
by State Council in the province.

————Xiaxi tomb————
Xiaxi buried here is an alumnus of Comrade Mao Zedong, comrades,
well renowned in Sanxiang area and the director of the Sixth
Red Army Political Departmen who listened to the teachings of
Lenin in person. He was born in August, 1901 in Taojiang Town,
Yiyang County, Hunan Province. He started to learn "the Analects",
"Zuo Zhuan", "Book of Songs" and other books with his father's
help in a private school when he was a child. He passed the entry
examination of Long zhou Higher Primary School in Yiyang County
when he was 14 years old, he studied in Teachers College in Hunan
Province which is ranked first when he was 16 years old. Xiaxi was
extraordinary intelligent, studied hard, had active thinking,
coupled by the new culture, the influence of new ideas, he matured
gradually and became the leader of the advanced youth , later became
an outstanding leader of the party and the Red Army, the highest
duties was the Hunan provincial party secretary, a member of Central
Committee.
