Surface: She is a technician from the forest department, donating his own life at her position.

Staff: When do you start to engage in this job?

Xu: Since graduation 1994

Staff: What make you feel that your burden is to regulate?

Xu: In April 1994, I cut the tree for the villager. Suddenly it was dark, the other shouted

at me: the sandstorm is coming! Before we came home, it got dark. After experiencing the

sandstorm, I felt the big burden of regulating the desert.

Staff: What is the work you have done with your colleagues?

Xu: First we surveyed the location, soil, water resource, animal and vegetation, historic

situation, regulating the reasonable plan. And then was the skill training.

Staff: What was the biggest difficulty you met in the process ?

Xu: One was to overcome the press and dig out of the tree root. Other was to overcome

the affect of the dry.

Staff: Which way adopted?

Xu: After years of practice, we summarized many skills to regulate the desert for more

forest. The most available is to make the grass grid, artifical planting, flying planting

forest, fence seal. And sometime we adopt many skills, such as water restoring, introducing

the anti-dry tree, deep planting root.

Staff: What's the achievement of regulating the forest?

Xu: Main achievements are Japan aid to regulate the desert for the forest. It has an

obvious effect: the coverage of the vegetation from 5% previously to 30% current, the

basis item of the district of the forest department, the aid from the bank to regulate the

sand, basis item of district veteran. All these items are carried on to make the square

meters in 100000 mu for the desert, making the ecological environment get far better

around maowu desert and its surrounding.

Staff: Please talk about your expectation.

Xu: I hope everyone will build up the sense of ecological protection and act actively. To let

the desert to be a green land, and our environment more beautiful and more harmoniously.
