1、Description of “Our Community

 

"Huashan Xian Yu" is known as “the seventh water mansion", the depth is more than 50 miles, the road is narrow and steep, the mounts and rocks are precipitous. Walking to the 5 miles from mountain, there is a valley which blocked the way forward, and there is a feeling of impasse, after crossing the way, you can also have the feeling of hope. It's more spectacular in the watery times. Valley landscape is very beautiful with a clear river flowing all year round, the weather is humid, trees and flowers flourish, and rare stone on both said. You cannot help admiring the wonder of nature.

2、Summary of Our Project   

By students-centered and task-based teaching approach, to solve a brand new problem using what they already know, to appreciate all the hard work of self-learning and think independently, meanwhile, during the researching project, we learned to communicate with people in an interview, not only increased our knowledge, but also mastered the basic skills of information technology. With the quick development of tourism industry, many visitors from out of town come here which stimulate local economic development. And government has allocated a lot of money for creating “Natural galleries”--- Shixiagu.
To compare with the difference between present and past, we understand that local economies would also be boosted by tourism development. It stemmed from practice and got continuous enrichment and development in practice.   

3、ur Computer and Internet Access

 

There are no computer at student’s home. We have to work out at school. School has only one e-learning classroom with 90 computers for our searching the web, tying word and editing image.

By our tour on Shixiagu, we were impressed by the extraordinary water and clean rocks. Regarded as natural art landscape in Mount Hua, we got known that travelers came to visit, and spent their summer time in an endless stream every year. According to the planning and design program in Mount Hua, valley landscapes are further more developed for visits, which meeting us feel that Qingling Mountains with a profound history will have a brighter future.

Setting up project website 

Under the leadership of teacher, we discuss as a team, and complete the following tasks respectively.

he section of material collection:

We went to “Art g alleries”for performing field research with the teacher. Many pictures on the valley road took by teammates. Yang Sha and Xue Yitiang are responsible for recording the interviews.

he section of material selection:
Under the instruction of teacher, Wen Qian and Xue Jiayi are responsible for photographing and documenting the interviews.

The section of webpage making:
All images on the web are edited by Yang Sha and Xue Yiting with the instruction of teacher. All teammates type text with using a Word file. And by assist from teacher Li, all of us design the webpage, working as team is the most efficient way to get the work done.

4、Problems We Had To Overcome

5、Our Project Sound Bite

After 40 days hard work, we were happy obtaining good results from no idea where to start at the beginning. During the process of study, we knew “Natural Galleries” better. We hope that Wengyu ancient road at the foot of Hua Mountain have become known throughout the world by our webpage. We were never good enough to study project, but under the guidance of the teacher, we had the confidence to do better. We have done our best, at least we knew that it needs a lot of processes from the planning to begin collecting material, to make website, finally released, through the joint efforts of us, at the same time, in the production process, we also learned a lot of knowledge which we never learned in junior high school classroom.

6、How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?

In this activity, our school took "West China Story" as a comprehensive practice activity class, and there was a class every week. In the current new curriculum reform, in addition to the normal class, we were also advocated to improve the study and social practice, the purpose to participate in this activity is to give us a good chance to practice. We think it not only ensured our normal learning, but also broaden our horizons, and pay attention to the environment around in the spare time to collect, visit and take pictures.
