Endless passion to Western China

Sayling once said that during his visit in western China, he found many people work as migrant labor in eastern areas. That was an important factor causing gap between western and eastern region in China. Compared with rural area, farmers in impoverished area have less communication access. In order to develop net economy, Sayling founded Town and Talent Technologies, which aims at introducing information network technology to villages still dwelling in the agricultural society. This will develop a local knowledge-based economy, thus congregating people from far-flung villages in central locations. By developing the service industry, these rural villages will make the leap into internet villages. This project is primarily based on member school participation in numerous regions. Member schools will be able to use computers and internet resources to increase their rate of students testing into higher education. Students must actively increase their software, English and typin abilities. The ultimate goal of the Town and Talent Project is to elevate the level of knowledge, income, and standard of living in the west tomatch that of eastern coastal China.

In May 11, Mr. Song Chu-yu praised Sayling in the speech delieved in Tsinghua University. Mr. Sayling Wen was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. He was born in 1948 and later graduated from Taiwan University with a degree in electrical engineering in 1970. Over the course of his career, he served as general manager of Jin Bao Electronics in1973, as well as general manager, president and finally vice-chairman of Inventec Group in 1980.

During his time as vice-chairman of Inventec Group, Mr. Wen was noted as a far-sighted visionary and placed in charge of strategic development. He used his keen business instincts to readily adapt to the lightening innovations in high-technology.

Though he rose to become a leader in enterprise, Mr. Sayling Wen's childhood was spent in an impoverished rural village in Taiwan. It was a time of immense hardship marked by lighting oil lamps, catching glowworms, and fetching well water. However, Mr. Wen also witnessed the progress of Taiwan's economic development as the island transformed from great poverty to great wealth. He was able to demonstrate his concern for the future of Taiwan and mainland China by drawing on his business acuity.

An exceptional humanitarian, Mr. Wen had devoted himself to his writing in past years. He authored a number of books including Leader, The Future of Media, The Future of Education, The Future of Business, The Future of Enterprise, Internet Creates Wealth, and China and the New Economy. Prior to his passing, he was in the midst of assembling a new work of over a million words entitled The Bright Moon of the Qin Dynasty. That book was to feature numerous schools of philosophy in ancient China and was intended to spread the glory of Chinese culture throughout the world. Mr. Sayling Wen was forever a boundless dreamer and invested his heart and soul in his work. In Dec 4 of 2003, Sayling died in Hexin Hospital.

In Dec 4 of 2003, Sayling died in Hexin Hospital. He was born in 1948 and later graduated from Taiwan University with a degree in electrical engineering in 1970. The Internet has demonstrated beyond all doubt that it can change the course of people's lives. Only bu way of the Internet can one bridge the digital divide and assist underdeveloped areas in poverty elimination. Hence, this group has established Town and Talent Technologies with a20 million US dollar initial investment. This business is operating within the framework of "western China development", and will unveil the market potential of over 800 million people.
