Ms Chen Yu-lou was 77 years old. When she was 7 years old,
the Red Army arrived at Jiangtaibao in the Long March. In Jul,1936,
her father worked as a labor in local landlord.
He showed grain depot to the armies and distributed all the
grains to the poor people. Afterwards, KMT soldiers beat up
him and shot him dead.

1. Q: How old were you when the Red Army arrived at your village?
How many members were in your family?
A: I was just six years old when they arrived at Liupan Mountain.
There were my parents, brother, sister-in –law and me.
2. Q: what happened when the Red Army passed Jiangtaibao?
A: it was in 1936, the Red Army distributed landlord's grains
to poor people; however, KMT soldiers believed that my father
showed way to them and shot him dead.
3. Q: what was the living condition at that time?
A: the local villagers were quite poor. We just had a thin
clothe in the winter, not mentioned eating.
4. Q: what did people expect in that period?
A: we expected to have our own lands and improve our living
condition.
5. Q: what was people reaction to the liberation of China in
1949?
A: at first, we thought that it was KMT armies entered our
village. When we recognized that it was liberation armies, we
couldn't help weeping.
6. Q: what is your feeling of living conditions nowadays?
A: I feel that children are quite happy. Their living condition
is much better than we were in our childhood. They should treasure
their lives.
